Logan and Lauren have been married for five years and have been very happy and very in love. One day Logan over hears a phone conversation Lauren is having that makes him think the worst. Logan knows after he hears Lauren on the phone that she is having an affair, he thought he would be angry and he is but he mostly feels panic. Determined to keep Lauren at all costs Logan takes them away, away from all that is hurting their marriage so that he can keep them together. Lauren loves her husband as much as the day she fell in love and never wants to hurt him, but a misunderstanding does just that and she will have to show him that he is the only man she will ever love.This is yet again another fantastic book by Lynda Chance. She has the magic touch when it comes to possessive crazy jealous in love men and i'm never disappointed by not only her books but her hero's as well. This is a great short read that left me satisfied and yet wishing it was longer. After every book I read from Lynda I always wish it was longer not because I feel like the story is missing something but because Lynda Chance is such a gifted author. Lynda Chance is what's right in novellas today.

Anybody who knows me knows that I am a Lynda Chance junkie. She is always a for sure one-click for me. The thing that I like about her is that she knows how to speak 'Alpha male.' Really it isn't even just the sex in her stories, it is the attitude and the demeanor that she is able to portray in her male characters. They grunt, groan, growl, and will stop at nothing to get that one woman that they have set their sights on, and it works for me every time; I'm a sucker for it. This was a short read, but it was still a great read in all of its 'Alpha glory'.
Wow doesn't quite describe it but what other word is there? This guy is something else. When he loves, he loves. Quite the DOM and doesn't even know it. He thinks his wife may be about to leave him and she is the air he breathes, he will never let her go. She has no intentions of leaving him. I suppose she could have told him and then there wouldn't have been a story but I really like it that she didn't. This guy is possessive but I think all guys could use a little bit of his passion. I don't think many would complain. Lots of hot sex. In fact, that is what the whole story is about. Very quick read but very entertaining. I recommend it if you like hot, sexy, love scenes.
This really shouldn't have been listed as a "romance" novel unless romance is a euphemism for sex. Logan is overbearing at his most endearing times; however, I found him to have no redeeming qualities to soften the domineering attitude. Alpha male he is not ... Logan is beyond ... he's distrustful, manipulative, and emotionally abusive. Lauren is pathetic. She doesn't ever stand up to Logan. I'm glad that this book was free and a short read. I like my heroines to be strong and have a mind of their own.
Lauren claims to be strong, but likes to submit to her husband. However, she looks beyond weak. I don't a strong alpha male who likes control, but Logan is scary obsessive and controlling. I'm sure in the real world, people would call him abusive.
Temptation is a little sexy, with an over the top plot. It's a bit enjoyable if you can look past the craziness in Logan and Lauren's marriage.
I enjoy a dominant alpha male, but this guy borders on crazy. They are a married couple, but he is over the top possessive and not in a good way. Thank goodness this book was free. I have enjoyed other books by Ms Chance, but I skimmed through this short story in record time.
Perhaps if I were more familiar with the romance sub-genre of Dom/Sub, I would've realized that the brief excerpt of text from the short story (in the book description) informed readers (without saying so, deliberately) that this was, indeed, completely a dominant/ submissive story. Just a heads up...and I suspect readers either crave this or don't like it much. I freely admit TEMPTATION IN TEXAS LOGAN AND LAUREN was my first Dom/sub read...and it caught me off guard. Ms. Chance's skilled writing and well-placed reveals made it evident to me key critical elements (Lauren was not only OK with her husband's dominant behavior--she LOVED it, consensual, Dom/sub romance) without having to spell it out.
My only reason for 4 stars ("I liked it", vs 5 stars, "I loved it") is that for me, personally, I see why I've not been completely sucked in by the Dom/sub romances; it's not my personal preference as a reader or as a sexually active adult.
This short story centers around a misunderstanding. For the length of the short story...it was PERFECT. Beautiful motivation behind Lauren's decision to keep something (big) from Logan, and for Logan to act strongly and sweep Lauren away from home as well as reclaim her (all in character...and I'd just "met" these people/characters). The dialogue rocked. The sex was hot and graphic (and in character...which was incredibly well done for such a short read).
Very well done, Ms. Chance! I'll seek out more of your titles!

If you like lots of caveman-style sex with not a whole lot of plot, then this might be the right story for you. This was something of a sex romp in search of a plot. If that floats your boat, then you will be happily sailing away. For me, it doesn't and it didn't.
The characters didn't involve me in any way. Laura is a non-entity. I don’t know if she works or if she just hangs out at the house waiting for Logan to arrive home. I have no idea who this woman is, nor do I care. Additionally, I found Logan to be only the tiniest bit off from outright abusive. He grabs her in ways that hurt, grabs her shoulder, grabs her wrist, etc. Laura finds this s turn-on, but it turned me right off. Anyone who hovers over someone in this possessive way isn't really someone who loves or trusts the other person. I didn't buy that he loves Laura at all, but that he wants to possess her. This gave me a serious case of the heebie-jeebies. No thanks.
